Absolute rotary encoders use optical, mechanical, or magnetic indexing for angular measurement. They do not lose their position after power-down. But instead provide absolute position upon power-up without requiring a home cycle or any shaft rotation.

 
   
 
   
AC Servo Motors & Drives
 
   

AC servomotors are typically permanent magnet synchronous motors that often have low torque-to-inertia ratios for high acceleration ratings. AC servomotors have an output shaft that can be positioned by sending a coded signal to the motor. As the input to the motor changes, the angular position of the output shaft changes as well. Generally, AC servomotors are small but powerful for their size and easy to control. Induction and gear motor types are some common forms of AC servomotors.

AC servomotors use integral encoders, integral resolves, and integral tachometers for feedback signals. Integral encoders contain attached encoders for angular position signals, and may include absolute or incremental encoders and a number of different encoder signal types.

CNC machining services use fast, repeatable, and programmable machines which can function while unattended in order to manufacture parts quickly and efficiently. CNC controllers are used to control machines and processes. They provide capabilities ranging from simple point-to-point linear control to highly complex algorithms with multiple axes of control. Touch screen displays are user-friendly input devices. The user touches the screen and the input is communicated directly to the computer. Touch screen sensors are composed of a transparent touch surface surrounded by a sensor array that provides positional information to a processor.

 
   
 
   
Manual Pulse Generator
 
   

Manual pulse generators (hand wheels) institute a command pulse when a handle is turned manually. They are sometimes used to position the axes of milling machines and other industrial equipment such as turns and lathes. A portable manual pulse generator or hand wheel can be used to calibrate multiple machines or devices.
